Welcome to my studio...

My studio is located at 329 North McLean Boulevard in Memphis, Tennessee.  All are welcome to come by for a visit, though I
strongly recommend calling me in advance at (901) 726-6543, as my schedule is erratic at times.

In the shop, I am partial to using traditional tools and methods.  At left, I am using a drawknife while seated at a shaving horse.  My shaving horse, pictured above, is simply a bench equipped with a foot-operated clamp.  This piece of equipment was used for centuries before the vise-equipped workbench first appeared.

Like I said, simple hand tools are what I enjoy most, but it's hard to avoid some machine-aided woodworking.  The machines get the job done effectively, but they are noisy, and they sure do make a mess.  Note the protective headgear.
